X-Mapper Pro (for X-Plane Desktop) App Reviews

Am using for flight simulator only (dont have a real plane). I got this app for use with X-Plane my Mac Book Pro and big monitor. It is awesome! Use the forward view with HUD on the big screen and run iPad synced to X-Plane. Works great. Very easy to install and intuitive to work autopilot and refer to map without having to mouse around the cockpit or leave the flight to see the map all from the iPad. Really makes setting autopilot and radios easy! I fly the 787 a lot, which I love, but the flight deck requires a lot of jumping around normally to set things… the X-Mapper Pro touch screen on the iPad (sometimes use iPhone too) is sooo easy. Took simming to a new level. Suggest using in conjunction with AirTrack app for the EFIS, then using your screen for forward full view, as you can then have your map and auto pilot controls on one iPad (or iPhone) using X-Mapper and the HSI/Instruments and radar etc on another using Flight Track. Great combo

I have had no failures or bugs with the default planes with XP10. Its nice to be able to see the map while flying. The AP functions have been flawless. I dont use the flight control portion of the app so I cant comment on that. The only problem Ive had is with pay ware planes like Jardesign A320. This app is not comparable with that and really screws up the A320 managed flight modules. This app is not really designed for that anyway, so I am not faulting it for that.

Exactly what I expected, no more no less. Very painless installation and a very helpful personal assistant.

***do not buy if you have ios7!*** I love x plane. I do not love this app. I use the app as a "joystick" and after updating my devices to ios7 the controls have disappeared. I can see avionics and auto pilot/ comms controls, but no flight input. Im guessing that the problem is the firmware, but I tried every type of troubleshooting in the book. Restarts, even reinstalls. Tried on an iPhone 5, iPad 2, and iPad mini, all with zero luck. Fix this app!

the app dosent work in x-plane 10.22

Does everything it says it will. Works perfectly with XP 10.25r1. The avionics functions don’t work with all payware aircraft, but they do work with some, which is to be expected. Terrific value.

this app is perfect. its so helpful if you have xplane,, but one suggestion for the next update, there should be a small compas in the corner so you can set your planes autopilot direction, its just a sugestion but tht would surly make this app perfect

The sliders disappeared. Was working for a while then no sliders. Tried reinstalling app -- didnt work.

It says the latest update was October 8, of 2012. 2012! Almost three years old. The least you guys can do is make it iPhone 5 compatible. Thanks

I had the demo of this app for a long time and it has instrumental to my simulation. When Im on the ground, I use X-Mapper in concert with the plate and it makes ground navigation a dream. I love how you can see a trail of where you have come from and it follows you. I can enter in my frequencies faster. Just after I bought the app they updated it to have the iOS 7-8 look and feel! Can it get any better!?

I would like to have one more feature, on the map when the flight is displayed/moving if you could display flight number( like 747/380)/speed/heading number/altitude that would be really great.

The map is a nice feature but having my radio and auto pilot controls is what did it for me.

I tried everything and I cant get my x-plane to work just because it says that its still running but its not Ive tried restarting re installing x-plane Ive tried X-plane 64 and 32 bit and it will not work I dont recommend this app

Very efficient

Great companion app with useful functionality. Fully integrates with most aircraft autopilot systems, but may not work with some that have their own operational plugins (x737, for example). I would give it 5 stars if it werent so unstable. The app crashes my iPad Air repeatedly during use (restarts my actual iPad, not just the app). Happens especially when moving/zooming the map. Fix that and its a winner!

The usage of radios or autopilot very rarely works, and when you launch the app, all flight control inputs from joysticks will be ignored. So unless you want to crash, dont get this app.

Worked very well for one or two flights but now will not connect to computer properly. This is frustrating because now I will have to buy a joystick.
